Pros- Light,Works good the only bad this is when the hour or minute hand covers the LCD but I can live wiht it for 5 min of an hour.

I live in florida so there are cement houses and have not gotten a sync inside my house but out side I can.

Leds light up the watch in the dark only enough to see the tme no LCD.

When you sync the lights dont work like the other guy said "Autosyncing at 2am-5am on the hour: I'm usually up at those times and the LED light doesn't work when I want to check the watch during the 5-10 minutes it's syncing" You can disable this so it does not sync automaticly. You can do it manule in a push of a buton. If you cant get the atomic feture to work you can always set the time manuely. On the LCD you can have the date or time on it.the watch is not that big I had to take 2 links out but my other one I had to take out 4. both are casio watches.

I am very satisfied from casio watches I plan to by another one when this one wares out or brakes.
The face is a bit more purple tint to it then blue
Cons. Every things ok but that on LCD issue.
Nice, but not quite there yet       Product Reviews

I must be getting old. As the years pass, I find myself losing interest in the whiz-bang features I desperately wanted in ages past, instead returning back to basics. Case in point: this watch. It seems to have everything but the kitchen sink but I still ended up returning it. A few of the features were nice but many of them just weren't essential to me anymore. For instance, the atomic timesetting. I'm not quite so lazy that I can't manually reset my watch twice a year when daylight savings changes. In terms of accuracy, modern quartz watches really aren't that bad. The watch I was planning to replace, an 8-year old Pulsar, keeps nearly perfect time. I can't remember the last time I had to adjust it during the semi-annual DST reset. The Casio is also quite a bit bulkier than the old watch. I have to admit that any watch I buy from now on must be solar. My solar Pulsar is still running well on its original battery after 8 years and I've forgotten about ever having to worry about a dead battery. It's scratched and a little worn, but it does everything I need it to do. Okay, I have to use the crown to change the date at the end of shorter months, but that's not a big deal. I do wish I had the five alarms like the Casio, or even one alarm, but it's not a dealbreaker. As for the chronograph, I haven't needed one in many years. Your mileage may vary.

Maybe I'll check out "atomic" watches again in a few years, but as of right now, the shortcomings are just too much for me to overlook. Now I understand how my father felt, when he kept the same self-winding watch for the last three decades of his life. It's not about getting the newest and best. I guess sometimes a watch just becomes an extension of you rather than you becoming an extension of it.
Very nice modern watch       Product Reviews

I got this watch about 2 weeks ago from Amazon. Like others have said, the back is light purple instead of the blue in the photo. I read the manual back to front twice to fully understand all the features of the watch. This review is just to complement the existing reviews of the watch, since others have already pointed out the positive features of the watch.

Minor Annoyances:
Autosyncing at 2am-5am on the hour: I'm usually up at those times and the LED light doesn't work when I want to check the watch during the 5-10 minutes it's syncing. So basically, I can't see the time that well.
Snooze: I use the watch as my primary alarm. One of the alarms, AL5 has a snooze function. But to turn off the snooze after it has gone off (go into timekeeping setup mode or alarm setup mode) takes a bit more effort than I like in an alarm, especially when I'm tired in the morning.
LED lights: the LED lights aren't that great. It's difficult to read the LCD even when they're on.

Not Annoyances (things I expected might be annoying but aren't):
Sync Quality: I never have to do anything special to keep it synced after turning on autosync. You don't have to put it near a window like it says in the manual.
Battery: I haven't had to do anything special to keep the battery charged.
Everything else: works as expected.
One of the better choices in the Waveceptor line       Product Reviews

I just received this watch and I'm very impressed. I've been looking at the various Casio Waveceptor watches for some time and this one has a very good feature set, especially if you can catch it on sale.

One thing I learned in my search was that not all the Waveceptors with analog dials (in addition to the digital displays) automatically sync the hands with the digital time--this one does. (Note it has no stem.) I read reviews of several others that lacked this feature. The face, though busy, is very readable. The luminous hands are bright, but the automatic illumination when you tilt your wrist is way cool--no reaching for a button like with a Timex Indiglo, and the display illumination is bright, even, and a very high tech amber color. The watch senses ambient light and only illuminates when needed--another novel feature. You can turn this feature off (and change the duration) if you want to.

The default display tells you if the watch successfully synced with the atomic clock the previous evening (it tries every hour on the hour from midnight to 5 AM), and if you are really curious, you can verify the last sync date and time with a single button push. The instruction booklet is a tiny 3.25" x 2", but it is a half inch thick! Lots of stuff to read, but not all is necessary. It goes into great detail about how it syncs with the atomic clock in Fort Collins, Colorado (or Fukushama, Japan) and advises you to put it on a window sill with the 12 facing outside. I found this overkill, mine was synced when I took it out of the box, and it syncs just fine on the dresser each night, 15 feet from the nearest window. The rest of the features, like dual time zone displays, 5 alarms, stopwatch with lap feature, etc. are all icing on the cake.

As others have mentioned, the face is really more of a pale purple than a blue. The gold highlight on the bezel does not stand out as much as shown in the photograph. It does not have Roman numerals on the face as described.(Didn't want them anyway.) The clasp is very positive and requires two fingers to open, it will never pop open unintentionally.

All in all, this is a LOT of watch for the money, I highly recommend it.
