I opened the box, and instantly the hands on the clock face started moving. It automatically adjusted to the right date and amazed me from the beginning! Nice light, titanium feel is sure to please even the most picky person. I also love the fact that he will never have to worry about batteries. Overall, I am impressed with the watch, and for the price, you cannot beat it! Good As A Watch Can Be. by: Anonymous on: 24-Oct 2005 Having owned everything from Timex to Rolex over the years it was a revelation to find this Citizen Promaster (PMT56-2714). As is usually the case with the best Japanese watches this one is only sold in Japan but is available online from the highly reputable [...] for just under $300. That may sound like alot but consider that it has a sapphire crystal and extremely scratch resistant titanium alloy case with nicely knurled screw down crown. It is permanently sealed at the factory which bodes well for its resistance to dirt and moisture. The style is quite military in appearance and not cluttered as with most Japanese watch designs. The luminous material is so incredibly effective I can't help but wonder what the problem is with virtually all other watchmakers in that they can't seem to be able to duplicate it even in very expensive Swiss watches! There is an initial all clear and date setting procedure required to get the Eco-drive microprocessor on track but it is only required once. I found the enclosed instructions on this bewildering but fortunately there is a much easier to use set on the [...] website. Time setting is very simple and quite interesting in that the hands seem to operate independently from each other under electronic control (multiple steppers perhaps?). It is also a pleasant surprise to see all hands perfectly indexed and date change-over that happens exactly at mid-night and taking only a second to complete. Of note, the stiff canvas strap needs to be replaced with something more comfortable but that is no problem to do on an otherwise outstanding watch.
